The Owners
Country House Rescue Chnnnel 4's TV documentary is one place that you've probably seen us.
In 2004, builder Adrian Goodall and his wife Caroline, fell in love with Black Clauchrie Estate and decided to move away from their busy lives in Yorkshire, with their two children Rob and Georgie, to start again in this beautiful part of South West Scotland.
The couple were particularly captivated with the secluded and tranquil location of Black Clauchrie, as well as the homely and comforting feel of the site. Their vision was to restore Black Clauchrie to its original status, including renovating the cottages for Scottish self catering holidays and retreats in Scotland.
Black Clauchrie has been a labour of love for the Goodalls who have worked hard on its restoration, while retaining its original features. Their work has included opening the view from the conservatory down to the pond, uncovering original paths, repainting the exterior and interior of the house, adding en suite facilities and oiling the wood panelling throughout.
The couple have many plans for the future development of the Estate – from restoring the walled garden to produce fruit and vegetables to building a swimming pool with hot tub.
Adrian and Caroline love to share Black Clauchrie House with guests on a full board, fully hosted or self catering basis. Their friendly welcome is extended to all - whether you are looking to enjoy a special interest holiday, experience local activities, celebrate a special occasion or entertain family and friends.
